There is a place near Cairns, Far North Queensland where you can find an artist working with clay that will remind you that our natural world is filled with unlimited possibilities for beauty and aesthetics.

Annette Tranter is that Ceramic artist; she lives and works surrounded by the organic forms of the tropical rainforests and the natural beauty of The Atherton Tablelands. Working with fine quality stoneware clays and glazes, fired to 1280 ºC, Annette captures the reoccurring forms, colour, texture and lines of nature in her artistic pottery and ceramic art.

Often a piece of my ceramic art will begin by remembering a secret I've seen in nature, maybe the contrasting colours of fungi, hiding in the deep shadows of the rainforest, or the awesome turquoise hues of the majestic reef as I fly south.
